Powerball
A fun activity where players are divided into groups of four depending on skill level and each player plays a set with each of the other players. After three complete sets are played, the game scores are tallied for each player. A number will be drawn at the end of the night and if your total game count matches the number drawn, then that player wins the entry fee pot. Entry fee is $10. Contact Marcus Reese at 512-426-9596 for additional information.
Powerball has been suspended. We will let you know when and if it starts up again. (05/12/24)
Pickleball
Many of you may have noticed the newest addition to Murphy Park. Located just east of the tennis courts are 3 new pickleball courts. This is one of the fastest growing sports in the nation and is a lot of fun. There is open play on Sundays - check the event calendar for times. If you are brand new to the game and want to try it out, there is additional equipment that you can use so feel free to come and join in on the fun. Contact Larry Cmerek at 512-650-6249 or cmerek@sbcglobal.net for additional information.
USTA Leagues
The Austin Area has seen a large growth in population and interest in tennis. In 2019, Taylor saw our first USTA leagues organized with one of the divisions finishing a very strong second (8-1) and just missing qualifying for Sectionals. Our goal is to continue to develop competitive leagues and have Taylor well represented in league and post-league play.
Junior Team Tennis (JTT) has been going strong in Taylor for several years and is managed by Marcus Reese who is our resident Certified Pro. If you would like information about how your junior player can join a team contact Marcus at 512-426-9596.
